The Wixaritari people consider five places to be sacred and connected to the creation of the world. One of them, Wirikuta, is a semi-desert region near the Real Sierra de Catorce, in Mexico, considered the point from where the rest of the world was created.

Later, with seeds given by the goddess, Watakame planted what would become the first humans. A.k.a "Timuwaxi", Watakame, in the time of his death, had his body parts dispersed, and from them, new plants were created. He became a "Kakaiyari" tutelary deity associated w mountains+

WATAKAME is the first human and ancestor of all humans in the traditional cosmology of the Wixaritari (plural form of Wixárika, also known by the exonym "Huichol") people from Mexico.
