Haven't done one of these in a while—My name is Jarom and I'm a freelance illustrator based in the Portland, OR area. I like drawing people and nature and adventure and things like that.

And here’s a time-lapse

I didn’t really intend to give her green skin, but as I was blocking in shapes it just kind of happened and then I went with it? Also please remind me in the future that this many leaves is too many leaves to draw.

Also holding the phone with one hand while taking a video with the other continues to be a struggle in my life, so here's a cleaner version with no hand shenanigans involved.

And here’s the process video for anyone who’s interested. Also this sword has an eye on the hilt for some reason. Do I know that reason? Nope.

It was my birthday yesterday and I drew a sword because A) swords are cool, and B) I felt like it. If anybody wants to give me a real-life sword as a belated birthday present, I would graciously overlook the tardiness of your gift.

Here’s the finished version and thumbs I did for this project. Apparently I did color thumbnail sketches back then?? Really not sure what I was thinking. Anyway I still really like this one.
