This was an unused sketch for a @Procreate project back in 2016 that I ended up finishing anyway. (I think this was for the 3.2 update when they added layer groups—it was a big deal!)
Playing with some arm foreshortening, and yes I know I probably did it wrong, but that’s the great thing about not drawing realism—it doesn’t have to look like reality! Which, as we all know, is boring and overrated anyway.
Some garden guys—thanks for your input last week! I still might come back to some of those other sketches later.
I've been playing around with some looser rendering styles! Also while looking for ref photos I learned that people consider seagulls pests? I thought we all just kind of silently agreed they were lovable scamps or something. Anyway, I like seagulls, sorry haters.
And here's the final along with a color study I liked. I don't usually do color studies first, but I tried it out on this one. I kind of like it better in some ways? Which is part of why I never do color studies—it's so hard to recreate the parts that work in the final! :|
🐸🕶 I started this one for a demo last week and had a few minutes to finish it up last night!

I made these character designs for a pitch with Yves Geleyn and @HelloHornet last year. The client didn't end up using them ultimately, but it was a fun project anyway.

New illustration for an article in Today’s Veterinary Nurse magazine about going back to the basics to build your skills. I had a lot of fun with the color palette and angle on this one.
