Singing Earthworms (er, Mirthworms) in a tale of holiday acceptance from Perennial Films - the finest animated Christmas classics ever made in Indianapolis.

Here is a still from McCay's Lusitania and the famous enlistment poster of the drowned woman and her child. Pretty moving stuff. This is different from political cartooning. There is a realism here, animated or not. Surely this helped films become 'serious'.
