The Hound of the Baskervilles is just a superb tale, with quite an emphasis on Dr. Watson. There is the classic '2nd murder' as well, which may have helped cement that trope into mystery fiction.

Here is one of many comic book ads for Star Frontiers, which oddly did not get a comic book. The thing is just prime for a comic book. There are other things, such as this CYOA-type book.
