Characters from what became DC were fond of red boots. The Marvels, being all based on Captain Marvel, were fond of yellow boots.

The Mach-5 in the Speed Racer cartoon had many features, including a periscope (part of what pressing F would do).

Some sports cars apparently have had rear-facing periscopes, but I always wanted a front facing one to see over trucks and stuff.
