A very dark image from the Gospel series today. This is the death of Judas... look closely to see the slumped figure below the tree. The halo that indicates the presence of Christ in the distance just reaches him and you can see the faintest of angels too. Always hope.
Back to the studio in the @TitheBarn now. Lots more paintings and ink drawings to come! This is the 'Sermon on the Mount' and is one of 30 (eventually) paintings that illustrate the Gospels. Thanks to all who have supported this ambitious project so far:-)
The Crucifixion:
The latest finished painting in the Gospel series. The original will be joining the others at @StMarysPriory shortly. I'm taking them on tour when they are completed next year, let me know if you would be interested in displaying them. #GoodFriday #Crucifixion
Palm Sunday:
Jesus can be seen surrounded by crowds of people. In the foreground a person has turned his back on Jesus and drops his palm to the floor. How fickle we are. The palms were painted by over a hundred people... visitors to the @TitheBarn and @StMarysPriory and ...
Many thanks to all those who have taken the time to explore my work thus far. Today I’ll be working on psalm 25 - in the meantime, a painting from the Gospel series that I’m working on (30 paintings that explore the life, death and resurrection of Christ), Jesus Calms the Storm.
Today I’ll be working on psalm 10, so there’ll be another post later. In the meantime here is another image from the oil painting series that I’m working on about the life of Jesus. I’ll post one every few days to lead us up to Easter. This is the baptism of Jesus...
An update of my largest painting in the series ’ The Human One’ with @StMarysPriory. It is difficult to appreciate at this scale so hopefully you can see it properly when lockdown eases. Keep safe. @ChurchinWales @_ArtServe @Christianitymag @MissionMonmouth
The River Jordan flows through the fingers of the baptised Christ. He lies back and feels the power of God as it cuts through the water and envelops His submerged body. Here, that power and connection is represented by an ‘umbilical cord’ of sorts, pumping life through the veins
Painting of the crucifixion coming along nicely but I a have a bit of a dilemma... rain or no rain? Come and see it in progress at @TitheBarn @FrSoady @ChurchinWales @cherry_vann @MonmouthDCO @MissionMonmouth @abercecpastor @cathylplou
