THE FUNGI AMONG US
As I was going out the door a few days ago, these fungi were a surprise visitor after the rainstorm.
I loved the colours and shapes and decided they needed a painterly interpretation in @icolorama.
Now they have the feel of the deep dark woods.
Going with the flow
Sometimes, the flow comes so easy when I paint. Not often, so I cherish those moments
I have a deep seated love of the central California coast.
It fills me with joy, peacefulness and awe.
I think I have captured these feelings in this simple abstract
PAINTING WITH APPS
Here are two versions of a trio of flowers I created last night
These blooms just arose from the tools that I used as I let my apple pencil move across the canvas .
It was so relaxing.
Done for now
I have been playing with transparent and opaque colours to see what I can do with them.
I think I will walk away from this for now as I am pretty happy with where I have arrived.
PEONY ABSTRACT
Acrylic on 12x12 cradle board
I decided I wanted to do an abstract painting using a limited palette and push the contrast.
I chose a section of the original photo and used it as a reference.
One of four
I love the textures and contrast in this 24x24 inch acrylic gallery canvas painting.
The strokes are so bold and free.
Where to go next ? That is part of the fun.
I will work on the other 3 for a bit.
Adding more interest
I worked some more on this piece to accentuate the bold colours by surrounding them with neutrals and lights.
I don't think that this is quite finished yet. Getting closer...
Let's see what tomorrow brings.
Looking at my shapes and values.
This piece is moving along nicely.
I have lightened my lights, added some warmth and worked on shapes and saturation.
The shapes in the upper right are bugging me.
Will look at this more and think about how to change them .
What is on your easel today ?
I just started a new 24x24 inch acrylic abstract.
I am loving the rich oranges and reds.
Textures are starting to emerge.
Let's see where this one evolves into tomorrow.
Collision of Worlds
I brought parts of two of my analog acrylic paintings into my digital world .
Where does one end and the other begin ?
Have a look .
