Painting on a geological map of Scotland, work in progress…

A different approach for this one- acrylic applied with large brushes and a squeegee. A work in progress.

Acrylic on smooth gesso, still trying out and learning from new materials.

Dozing seals sketch on very wrinkly paper. Bad weather kept us indoors again so this was a good way to spend the time - there’s a bay a couple of miles away where they haul out, counted 50 of them when we saw them a couple of days ago.

Loch Snizort, Isle of Skye. Painted on a geological map which makes for a colourful underpainting.

I didn’t get back to the big painting today- I made lots of small experimental pieces instead for a course I’m doing. I’ll keep going with them see if I can push them to a conclusion ……

My evening estuary walks are starting to appear in paintings. Leaving this one to rest for now and I’ll come back to it tomorrow.
