@1mpavidus oh. just wait until you hear about the butterfly that's been following Kirby around since 2011
I really do respect the Kirby games' ability to deliver lore and spark speculation through purely visual elements--it's a very unique way of telling a story
they don't come right out and say where the Haltmann Company's "Mother Computer" (right) came from, they just do this
which isn't to say I've had no success out there--some of these things (like, uh, THINGS) have made it to streaming services
and I found this absolute gem in full on YT, so there's also that
Kyrinna: c'mon, nerd, you're just saying that
Lyla: no, I don't need much space...but I meant comfy as in...I feel so at home! you're fun to hang out with, and Zel and Cydia...they act kind of like my mom and dad!
Zel:
@artnyarn Air Gear, but with the intense colors/shading of those Gurren Lagann eyecatches
so we're on the same page: the Dracocrepitus we see in TM:K is a gator-like dragon with huge scales, who detonates clouds of swamp gas
Dracocrepitus_FERRUM can fold up into a fighter jet, and it's clad in explosive reactive armor--it explodes on the inside as a defense mechanism
I'm starting to think the whole problem with this "kids' consumer report" thing wasn't the idea so much as the execution
--despite being living things, the enemies evoke the mechanical turrets and walkers and such you'd see in other games
and yet, because these monsters explode into gore when shot by lasers (as opposed to simply exploding), the game is said to contain "mature content"
obviously, as I stick with something for awhile and learn more about it, I start memorizing the proper names and tend to use those
but until then, I keep having to fall back on, say, calling Orphiel here "Roy Orbison" instead
sorry, I got super into drawing for the first time in like forever...and I'm trying an angular, cartoony style for Moonbrooke
I wanted to get this WIP-ready because I'm excited, but I'm gonna give Ciel even more hair by the time I'm finished
