Nicholls led Wales to glory and was widely praised for his part in the win. My book ‘How Wales Beat the Mighty All Blacks’ tells the story of the match with Nicholls as the main character.

Nicholls was persuaded to come out of retirement to face the 1905 NZ team and was made captain. Before the game a black cat wandered into the offices of Nicholls and Winfield and both wondered if it was an omen. We show this moment in the new book.
