A mayshroom watercolor painting for your feed today... this is “provenance” from 2013 and still a personal favorite after all these years. 💜
I love seeing “Chimera” beautifully surrounded in this collection from textile artist Molly Burgess! Her textile moth is the perfect companion for the embellished print I sent her way in a trade some time back. Artist trades are so fun!
Mermay is almost here. I’m not sure I’ll have a chance to make any new work in between other projects, but if I do, I’m thinking I need more seductive and deadly sirens in my life...

Last pair, then I’m getting vaccinated! This is a fun one. I love spiders, and I love the story of Arachne. It’s uncanny how i painted these two 10 years apart without even realizing it. 🕷
“Vitriol” 2013 and “Limerence” 2016 are really personal actually. I painted the former at a really bad part of my last marriage. It was clear how much pain I was in. Then I painted the latter, almost in response, when I divorced and then found my twin flame, my current partner.
“Entropy” and “Chimera” (2013 & 2018 again). I think these were both exploring the monsters within - the shadows that can’t also exist without light. In the latter, I’m more appreciative of my darker traits, even empowered by them.
