Fans have been horny for manipulative bad boys and bad girls and even monsters for centuries. It's only if they back them in real life (not role play) that's the problem.

@HokutoAndy A year before Secret of Mana, Dragon Quest V also introduced to its series the Leather Kilt as sported by one of its main characters, Pankraz. That might have helped it become a trending piece of fantasy gear

@Richmond_Lee Since I didn't know about Big Loo, I figured he and Prince were a parody of a certain console's ad campaign.

Obviously portal spams have been around a while. And I don't know when things like that one Warhammer 40K illustration were drawn.

But if that specific visual has no predecessor, its influence sure went places.
