Granblue's Ifrit takes after FF's later, more reptilian editions. But there's a stronger version that's like a Deva King. A Niosaur, you could say.

The more I think about it, the more Jashugan's gimmick is underused. I guess being twice as violent as a chainsaw and several times harder to draw comes with some limiting factors.
@IkariLoona Divine Sandstorm and attacks inspired by it are basically non-mecha equivalents of this, yeah.
@Shwampy_Vookake @felineki Yeah, I guess it gets used to evoke that time of economic boom. I only learned about it from all the nerdy pop culture refs a year or two after the collapse, so boy am I badly versed in it. (Technically the latter two here were around earlier as mangas)
@felineki I know basically nothing about disco, but I'm pretty sure that dance is a reference to the dance club, Juliana's Tokyo British Discotheque.
The first Darkstalkers came out on July 1994. The club closed the next month.
