@ScharaReeves For Black Rose, it would have been interesting to have the story told from sub-Captain Phillip’s POV. He’s second in command of the Royal Fae Guard, and a father & mentor figure to the MC, Mara, so he would view her story in a different way.

@akernis Black Rose - Mara was a Captain in the Battle of the Muir Court, which took place in 1400 between two Fae courts-Lorcan & Muir. In addition to commanding the Lorcan army, she also fought the Muir Captain in single combat.

@AuthorGoodwin Depends on the series. I don’t think every fantasy ‘must’ have them. There are tons of alternative magical creatures.
However, I personally love writing dragons, so I have quite a few kinds in my Flames of Kalleen series.

@colbybrennan99 Black Rose: Mara is a knight, sword-master, and Captain of the Royal Black Rose Guard. She was also born a Fae princess.

@e_stavs I have a few, but Captain Mara from my Tales of the Black Rose series would have to be one of them.
A Fae princess turned knight, sworn to an ancient honor code. She is fiercely loyal to fellow knights & those she vows to protect & has a 1,200 year forbidden love story.

A few of the strong women in my books:
Sarah - A Fae knight (purple shirt)
Clarissa - A Fae queen who has ruled for 2,000 years (purple dress)
Kaliyah -A dragon-shifter queen (grey)
Amelia -A dragon-shifter princess (blue)
Mara -A Fae knight
@JadeBlack21
@mirna0722 Black Rose - Mara has not. However, the MC of the 4th book in the series, Sarah, does. She is only half-Fae and her immortal father was from a lower Fae Court. She's met with disdain from some members of the high Fae court because of this.

@ceciliaclyra Black Rose Guard: Mara is a Fae princess turned knight. She is a famous sword master, & Captain of the deadliest guard in the Fae realms.
