Would probably say Princess turned Captain Mara, in my Tales of the Black Rose Guard dark fantasy series.

She’s a Fae heroine & sword master, fiercely loyal to those she has vowed to protect & to her fellow knights.

I write mostly medieval adult fantasy with strong heroines. In Black Rose, the MC is a Fae knight, in Flames of Kalleen, a dragon shifter.

They tend to be of noble or royal rank, so are well educated & versed in their kingdoms.

Most often live by a strict honour code.

Mara has trained many knights, but two important ones are Sarah & Jacob.

Jacob is the son of a high lord in the Lorcan High Fae Court. Sarah, the daughter of a lesser court, who helped save the life of Mara’s love.

Mara considers them to be her best trainees in 1,200 years.
