On this day in 69 the Batavi defeat a Roman army near the Dutch city of Nijmegen. The Romans lost 2 legions, while 2 others were controlled by the rebels. They even managed to capture Castra Vetera (Xanten). One year later the Romans retaliate and the revolt of the Batavi ends.
