It seems that I need to be clear on this. I'm not saying captions are bad and should be avoided. I'm saying that they should be used when needed to effect. They're a valuable tool , but they are easy to abuse. I used them heavily in this here, because it was that kind of book.

But then, that's the nice thing about creator owned comics. You're all great and we value you all... But we don't necessarily make these comics for you. We make them for ourselves.

Here's an example in The Last Siege where I second guessed myself and allowed some grunt-like noises from a battle. They're really not needed.

Same with @cartoonjones stunning work on Danger club. Sometimes there's dialog in the script, and when it gets drawn I cut all of it because... why? It's just baggage slowing down the action. I want this to move fast. I want it to read quick. Don't linger.

I don't have a lot of photos from that time, because y'know... no one ever really had cameras. Met and hung out with a lot of really talented and interesting people because we all made comics. Dylan Williams was, as always, at the heart of much of it. That was who he was.

I understand... If there is a book and a male character isn't center stage, do men even exist? At all?
