While the old Marvel TPB's may've not always reprinted the original covers inside or had some kind of backmatter, the quality of the paper and overall sturdiness was nice. Also when you had some cool cover art.
The Power of Iron Man TPB cover(w/o trade dress) by Bill Sienkiewicz
Asamiya's cover/interior work and Juggernaut was the best thing about Chuck Austen's run on Uncanny X-Men.
Asamiya's covers to the Titans series made me think of some OVA, which in all honesty could be good.
Kia Asamiya, creator of the manga series Silent Mobius and Steam Detectives ended up doing some American work, from covers, to interiors, and one of the first was his adaptation of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.
@EnemyOfTheShoe @PunchDrunkKing I really liked the Hawkgirl comic by Simonson and Chaykin at the time, and while it doesn't have the One Year Later branding the Blue Beetle comic spun out of it.
The best thing to ever happen to Hal Jordan was snapping, and turning evil. He was the lamest of the Green Lantern's from Earth, the epitome of milquetoast. It wasn't until he lost all he loved where he got interesting. Too bad they retconned it all being caused by a fear bug.
