I read quite a bit in July/August, including lots of adult contemporary romance this summer because that's what I really craved. I did squeeze in a few other books too.
Here are my three favourites ⛱️📚
Happy Book Birthday to "Our Tower" by @JosephACoelho and #richardjohnson, a beautiful story about what makes home a magical place. It's so important to see life in tower blocks represented in picturebooks, particularly when it's in such a positive way @QuartoKids
@AVisserFuray @smithsmm @MrEPrimary Has someone mentioned Beyond the Fence yet? It's superb, and there are so many layers to the story
NORTHERN IRELAND
And finally, I wanted to talk about something that is close to my heart, something that defines my own family here.
“The Twelfth Day of July” by Joan Lingard (@PuffinBooks )
“Guard Your Heart” and “Truth Be Told” by @absolutelywrite (@MacmillanKidsUK )
AUSTERITY POLICY (1)
“It’s a No-Money Day” by @ABagForKatie (@BarringtonStoke )
“The Invisible” by @TomPercivalsays (@simonkids_UK )
“The Queen on Our Corner” by @LucyCAuthor and @NiaTudor (@lantanapub )
“The Soup Movement” by @bendavis_86 (@OxfordChildrens )
"Cici's Journal" by Joris Chamblain and Aurélie Neyret, published by @01FirstSecond . I have raved about this series a lot over the years. One of absolute favourite art wise. I love how it merges old fashioned detective stories with a contemporary setting.
Treated myself to some @Waterstones pre-orders this morning because why not?
Day 27: a book I read every year
I don't have a book I read every year. So instead here is a "livre doudou", a comfort read I go back to regularly.
Day 3 - A book I did not finish.
Quite a few children's "classics" modern and otherwise actually, so went for the first one that came through mind!
