Todd McFarlane was born on March 16, 1961, in Calgary, AB. He’s a comic book creator best known for his work on Spider-Man and Spawn. He was one of the 7 founding members of Image Comics and co-created Venom with writer David Michelinie.
On March 15, 1937, H.P. Lovecraft died of cancer of the small intestines. Despite being in constant pain, he chronicled the end of his life in his diary. Lovecraft’s income as a writer was never enough to sustain him. He depended on his inheritance to live.
Nina Simone debuted her newest song Mississippi Goddamn in a Greenwich Village nightclub in late February/early March. The March 1964 live recording was released on “Nina Simone in Concert.” Simone considered Mississippi Goddamn to be her first civil rights song.
