The Call of Cthulhu by H.P. Lovecraft was published in the February 1928 issue of Weird Tales. Cthulhu is described as “an octopus-like head whose face was a mass of feelers, a scaly, rubbery-looking body, prodigious claws on hind and fore feet, and long, narrow wings behind.”

Hobart Brown is Spider-Punk in Marvel’s Earth -138. He received his powers from getting bitten by a spider at an illegal waste dumping site. His first appearance was in Amazing Spider-Man Vol 3 #10, published in January 2015.
