@FlareGunDebate basically it was
- resolution is very small, fancy characters = noisy
- outlines and chibi help, but then it looks like every other pixel game
- people really preferred the realistic proportions in polls

still, the characters can be complex and expressive in animation!

i feel like pixel art saves a lot of time with animation, but finishing the details in these backgrounds takes way too long

sketches/thumbs take an hour, then i spend ~4 days trying to finish a scene 😭

is this just unavoidable? any advice?
