All the jokes about non-binary people being obsessed with frogs is true... I just think there’s so many cool looking frogs out there and it’s kinda criminal that we don’t take full advantage of it.

Fun fact: I was going to make Regina a blue poison dart frog originally.

The concept for Les’s character was initially going to be a coyote, but somewhere in development he inherited this trait where he laughs when he’s in emotional distress and I guess I thought a hyena would be more suitable.

My original reasoning for making the town sheriff an armadillo was because I wanted the first character Romy meets to fit the aesthetic of my desert town.

I read an armadillo fact once about how they could float on water by inflating their stomachs. Nature is full of surprises.

Bats are an animal I relate to a lot, maybe because they’re kinda just misunderstood.

Echo is actually a hybrid of these two bats. I love the tall ears of the long-eared friend but I thought hematophagy would be a fun trait for a character so I settled on both.

For some reason or another I just REALLY love goats, so I’m kind of surprised Boone was my first goat OC.

I could have made him any goat, but I decided to make him a pygmy because he’s big and beefy and it amused me in the same vein of naming a giant dog “Tiny”.

Basset hound sona:

Cons:
- Smell bad
- No thumbs, so they have trouble drawing
- Can’t talk either, so they just drool a lot instead

Pros:
- Look funny
- Seriously have you seen the way they look when they run? So silly!

It’s that time of month again to remind you that I make a webcomic! We’re about 1/3 of the way through the chapter and things are starting to get a bit more tense. Look at all that dramatic shading! That’s how you KNOW I mean business.

Since 2019 is now very close to ending (and everyone else is doing it!) I wanted to pick some of my favourite comics from the year.

One of my biggest takeaways: If an idea seems risky or scary, DO IT. I’m always a little nervous to break convention but it almost always pays off.

Before I forget, I wanted to share this awesome commission I got from @betsythebeaver. She pretty much hit the nail on the head with Romy’s personality and I’m completely in love with the pose and expression.
