Day 9: Your Favorite Manga Aesthetic
Not sure what exactly it means by aesthetic, but heres some of my favorite manga artists styles
Chiho Saito
Irie Aki
Aya Kanno
older CLAMP style
To Strip the Flesh
5/5 stars
#ToStriptheFlesh #NetGalley
The 1st short story in this volume, followed by several of the shorts that contained the same characters, were my absolute favorite. I just wanted to keep following Chiaki's story more & more. +
Day 2: A Manga You Didn't Like At First But Came To Enjoy Later
Maison Ikkoku....Guilty pleasure series that I've finished 3 or so times. Half the jokes and miscommunication in it make me roll my eyes, but there's parts I enjoy. No one is ruining Yuusaku Godai's life like himself
My Love Mix-Up! Vol. 1
5/5 stars
#MyLoveMixUpVol1 #NetGalley
This manga has been my favorite of the ARCs Ive read so far. It was super fun, from the gags & hilarious expressions of the characters, to some of the smaller, incredibly adorable scenes where I could start to feel a +
Immortal Rain (1999)
Assassin Machika swears to kill the 1 bounty her grandfather couldnt get: the immortal Methuselah. But she finds a kind man named Rain who has lost more than he can bear. She follows him as he seeks the 1 who made him immortal, still swearing to take his life
Kids On the Slope (2007)
Kaoru is an intelligent, introverted student from a wealthy family who moves frequently & has never made friends. In 1966, he encounters Sentarō, a delinquent student feared by his classmates. Sentarō's love of jazz music inspires Kaoru to study the genre
Ai is a jaded former idol performing female roles—her roommate, playing male roles, is bright-eyed country girl Sarasa who dreams of playing Oscar in Rose of Versailles. There is no challenge these young women can’t face with their passion for performance.
Kageki Shojo! (2012/2015) [The original ran in a seinen magazine, but was re-released & now serialized in a shoujo one] Like the Takarazuka Revue, the young women who go to the arts academy Kouka Kageki High School play all the parts of musical theater, be they female or male. +
Day 1: Your Very First Manga
I.O.N by Arina Tanmura! I didn't know what manga was before this & had just discovered anime through Sailor Moon when i picked it up. I was 10 & had never read anything like it. I still remember being too embarrassed to read when they hugged lol
