This harks back to the long, bleak winters our ancestors endured. Telling each other Winter Stories round the fire, entertaining each other with tales of supernatural horrors to help distract themselves from the reality of horrors such as potentially running out of food reserves

It seems suitably apt after spending the last few months deep in headless horseman lore that I hear @amahnke 's latest @lorepodcast covering the folklore of Herne the Hunter The Wild Hunt & 'Der Wilde Jäger' one of the inspirational tales behind Sleepy Hollow. Essential listening

Seeing as we're now officially into Autumn seems a good opportunity to share a panel of @SlothHoffman 's fantastic artwork for 'The Wild Huntsman' (full of seasonal colours.) The ancient Germanic ghost story which inspired Sleepy Hollow - part of 'Early Haunts.'

@James_Blundell Starting next month I’m launching a Kickstarter for my graphic novel Early Haunts - an anthology of early ghost stories which each inspired a major work of horror fiction including Frankenstein and Sleepy Hollow

Yet more evidence surfacing of that damned educational Pylons game. Comforting to know most of the original tape run was burnt around the early '80s after the 'incidents.' Only a handful of these now remain, mainly found in boot sales,
or buried next to transmission towers...
