Celebrating two (!) book birthdays today!

Trying to keep up the summer vibes before September rolls around with help from @junghwart and @ClaireLordon!
Got some pretty fun book mail today from @kellyunderwater!
Can't wait to share more from GLORY ON ICE by @maureenfergus and @MarkFearing, coming soon from @KnopfBFYR.
I look for samples to inspire a reaction from your audience. I'm personally drawn to humor (like this not-quite-intimidating dragon from @yinfanhuang), but it can also be more touching and bittersweet, like seeing your penguin off to school for the first time by @ClaireLordon.
It can also be helpful to show the same character(s) going through different emotions and actions, and to be as specific as you can with each sequence, like this piece from @HyewonYum or this Halloween sampler from @danawulf:
I also like to see full-spread samples where you can almost get the entire sense of the story in a single image. Like this lovingly clueless sheep detective from @KatiaWish, or this kid trying to sneak up on Santa by @HyewonYum.
Wishing a happy Chinese New Year to all those that celebrate! Art by the incredible @yinfanhuang.
