Today’s #yycdoodlebugs prompt was, FRIENDS. I don’t have a lot of friends and I don’t see any of them very often (even prior to #socialdistancing) But, the friends I do have are pretty damn cool and I miss them a lot. This is a picture of my friend Zowie and I. socialdistanceart
Today’s #yycdoodlebugs prompt was, THROWBACK THURSDAY. One time in the early 90’s, my friends Justi, Jay, and, I made brownies. Justin snapped a candid shot of Jay and I sitting on the front step and eating the sides of the brownie bowl. #victoria #victoriabc #yyj #uvic #90s
Today is my dad’s 83rd birthday. So, in my dad’s honour, I decided to paint a little picture of Scarborough, UK. This is where my dad was born 83 years ago today. It is also where he lived until his family’s house was bombed and they moved to Redcar. #selfisolationart #dad
Today, we were going to haveLilo, a Swainson’s hawk from the Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society, come in to pose for my Art 10’s to draw. Last semester, CWRS brought in a great horned owl named Ophelia. My response to today’s yycdoodlebugs prompt, HAWK.
It’s been hard to explain to Edith Rose why we weren’t able to go on any long hikes this spring break. I found that cookies helped soften the blow. Here is my response to today’s prompt, HIKE. #yycdoodlebugs #yycarts #yycartist #yycartists #dailydrawing #dailysketch #artjournal
@CMOH_Alberta I’m not sure if I attached this little sketch when I messaged you earlier today. I’m fairly inexperienced with Twitter and was pretty sure hashtags had something to do with hashish until about two years ago. I’ll stop bothering you now. Take care.
I have started an art community on Instagram, #yycdoodlebugs because I miss teaching Art. I thought it would be a fun way to stay connected with fellow art nerds. My first prompt was Hero. I did this little sketch of Deena. My friend suggested I put it on Twitter #CMOH_Alberta

One of my favourite students died Monday night. She was 15. I’ve had a tough week; trying to be supportive for my other students. They ended up supporting me.
Decided to end the week with a fun activity — making buttons. I made one with a drawing I did of Edith.
I only got about five metres up the ramp before we realized it wasn’t pet-safe de-icer. I started whimpering something awful and it was painful to get down to some snow to clean my paws. Please don’t use salt that isn’t pet-safe. Gravel and ash are both eco and pet friendly. #yyc
