I got my Art 10s started on two mixed media works this week. One is a peace dove painting for the Remembrance Day assembly. I finished the example I’m been working on with them. I hope they like it and now understand that peace doves are supposed to look, well, peaceful.
Practice sheet for small Remembrance Day painting in. Art 10. I’m taking a slightly different approach this year and NOT doing poppies. Can you guess what we’re doing instead?
I opened a stack of art boxes today. One of the prompts for the May Paletteful Pack was “ocean”. I’m so glad we took Edith (my rescue dog) on that epic road trip down the Oregon Coast to California. It was so fun. 💛💛💛
I’ve spent a lot of time (probably about 40 hours, no exaggeration) waiting for ferries this summer. At least I’ve been able to wait with some cuties.

When your Dad’s appointment is only 30 minutes long and it’s too hot to draw outside and you find a hidden dinosaur.
I have started the Daily Outdoor Drawing with my Art 10s. Last week, the 20s and 30s drew bikes so that’s what the 10s did today. They had to use a pen so they couldn’t erase. I just happened to do mine on. Watercolour practice sheet I had kicking around in my sketchbook.
I had fun messing about during the professional development session I was at today. I’m not entirely sure I understood the instructions…something about dividing the canvas into four sections and doing an abstract background and then a flower, butterfly, and bird.

Super quick alla prima still life demo I did for my Art 20s today. Hopefully I will have time to finish it tomorrow. But, I haven’t finished the iris I started two weeks ago so…
