This seems unfinished to me, but I think I'll let it sit a few days to see why. In the meantime, it will have to do!

And now for something a little different, yet also very much the same. I've been playing with textures and vingnettes.

I've been chipping away at this one for a long time, but ready to post! I find rendering scales very meditative.

For the blueberry ladies... @JillGMedArt @ShoemakerMed
I've actually been doing a little set of these sketches. Here's blackberry. Don't like it as much as blueberry.
Totally influenced by wine posters btw. Abit obsessed with toulouse-lautrec's sketchbooks.
Another little creative break. I miss figure drawing in person (not that I'd have the time these days) but been doing a lot of sketching figures from memory, and twisting them around stuff lately.
Here's a thing.

I'm slowly but surely working on some #kidlit manuscripts, with the hope of eventually finding an agent and publisher.
But I thought I should start sharing this area of my work more in the meantime.
A vignette from one of my stories. :)

I love the vascular structures visible in bat wings. Had a lot of fun rendering this flying fox.

Wow, just noticed what a nice color palette the past week of animals makes!
Check this out @medical_vet_art... grey skies ahead.

Interesting hashtag. #artpostor
I think we all feel that impostor syndrome sometimes. Having a bit this week actually!
I'm Mesa, I'm a science and medical artist, and I draw a lot of animals, anatomy, and microscopic stuff... basically a classic nerd. :)
A pelagic octopus that secretes a calcium carbonate egg case and traps bubbles inside for buoyancy! Too cool.
