Have there been any Pokedexes with Trevenant but not Gourgeist? Because the former makes a ton of sense roaming outside the Old Chateau or the Lost Tower, but I can't see the latter fitting in with Sinnoh much

I can't believe I said Stunfisk would be the Pokemon locked behind the Great Marsh in spite of Route 212 being a suitable habitat when Goomy exists and would make way more sense being restricted like that (Route 212 having permanent rain makes it a great place to evolve, though)

You know, when I said I wanted to talk about Oreburgh Mine, this wasn't the Pokemon I had in mind... but I think it'd be amusing if Carbink had a really low chance of spawning in Oreburgh Mine, as well as some other caves like lower Mt. Coronet

And on the subject of Route 213, Binacle and Barbaracle are Pokemon I think would also fit there, as well as some other shoreline routes. Luckily, Sinnoh doesn't have Pokemon encounters tied to Rock Smash, so you won't have to worry about seeing them everywhere through that!

Given Inkay and Malamar's affinity for beachfront habitats, they would fit right in as encounters on Route 213!

(And while this isn't a new family, per se, I wanted to mention Sylveon here since I hope they wouldn't retroactively remove its existence like the new evos in HG/SS)

In the event that we get remakes of Diamond and Pearl, I think Spritzee and Swirlix make sense as an extra pair of version exclusives on Route 208, right outside Hearthome City and its Contest Hall. (And if we get a Platinum remake like I want, they can both coexist!)

This may not be Sword and Shield, but I do think the Honedge family has a place in Sinnoh as a new Steel-type that could make its home within Iron Island

Do you remember when Gogoat riding was hyped up to be a big thing and then Gogoat stopped existing after X and Y? I think these guys would make a lot of sense on the western end of Route 211, right next to Eterna's Grass gym (riding not included).

Given Floaroma's whole flowery aesthetic, it'd be a crime if you couldn't find the Flabebe family around the area. Even though Floaroma Meadow doesn't have traditional wild encounters, I'd argue Flabebe is worth making an exception for; otherwise, you could have it on Route 205.

Moving on to Kalosian Pokemon... whereas Lillipup was my pick for a Bidoof alternative, I think Fletchling makes a lot of sense as a companion for Starly. Arceus knows that Sinnoh is in desperate need of some more Fire-type Pokemon!
