I'll happily share the .STL with anyone who would be interested in printing or otherwise messing around with the model. It's 176 MB/3.6M tris though. The .MAX file also uses a couple plugins not everyone might have.
Here's the final image, based on @MimicMango's excellent design and feedback. I'm about 60% happy with it. There's more I can do, but sometimes you learn things that make it more useful to do something new rather than reworking what you've already done.
Salvage operation. I kind of liked the crawler design I had earlier, but I changed the composition a little and tried to improve the atmosphere.
A little more progress on my interpretation of a mech design by @MimicMango. I hope to have it finished tomorrow, though I'm rotating through several projects.
@MimicMango My non-NDA mech portfolio needs refreshed, but I've done a fair number.
This is the concept sheet that would go with the proxy, FWIW. With an added callout sheet, this is very similar to what we would give outsourcers on the RTS titles I worked out. Old concept, but it illustrates the point.
Spaceship sketch. Another flying glass cannon. Also an exercise in rendering technique and negative space.
@hello_hoph Seems like you could vary the base, the pupil type, the number of eyes, and the particle effect coming off it. I worked up some quick thumbnails, hope this helps.
Sketch. Taking a short break from the other piece to try something.
@MimicMango I'll be moving some things around still to get the foreshortening I'm after. How much will depend on what looks right in the foreground, if anything.
