For #ThrowbackThursday a piece I painted and digitally composited back in 2017
"Journey's End"

Henry Patrick Raleigh
1880-1944
A fairly recent discovery for me, an illustrator who fully embodied his era: the Gatsby years and the roaring 20’s. Incredibly prolific, and a master of that decadent, almost *viscous* moody narrative quality.
F’in brilliant. 🤩
Phew, Arcane (Netflix, 2021) is like chef’s-kiss intense and pure of spirit.
Feels like a Samurai Champloo for the Dubstep/EDM era (maybe, tho that’s just the vibes talking)
@craytusjones Xenoblade Chronicles (2010): the Mechonis and the Bionis, living worlds on ancient creatures fixed in an eternal battle.
The Culture, in the novels by Ian Banks: a cosmic near-utopia built by hyperintelligent machines, on a bedrock of dark compromises
#ThrowbackThursday to 2017, the last pieces of art I did with a hybrid digital/analog process, before I went 100% pen and pencil and ink and paper. #artshare
This particular copy has the first and second translations (out of 5), and some gorgeous illustrations by Edmund Dulac.
These paintings have my heart. Can somebody make an open-world chillout indie game that feels like this? DM me! I'll write some poetry for it 😉
Dale had his shadows, obvs... Evil Dale Cooper is literally the main antagonist of TPtR. But he was entirely external to the hero.
Shinji, on the other hand, had a counterpart, a narrative foil -- and that counterpart wasn't dark, but a perfect glowing paragon of benevolence.
OMG it took forever, but I finally managed to capture this GIF of friend and fellow poet Meryl Stryfe of the Bernardelli Insurance Company
This one is honest to god miraculous... s3e2 “Go West You g Scoob” (2005) is literally Westworld.
