Thinking about that old cliche of cartoonists taking a day off with a doodle of the latest dead celebrity being greeted in heaven. I think it's inadvertently indicative of the way some people, in death, ascend to a cartoon heaven. In many ways they lived there on Earth.

Just found out about the old DOS game Metal & Lace: The Battle of the Robo Babes, a fighting game where all the giant robot characters knock off each other's armor, revealing the "robo babe" doll frames underneath. I think this should be in EVO.

If you like 80s fashion - and who doesn't - I just found this huge treasure trove of design drawings from the cartoon Jem & the Holograms, with a good deal of reference info on the specific designers they're riffing on.

Utterly delighted to learn the late Yu-Gi-Oh! creator, Kazuki Takahashi, did a Marvel comic where Iron Man and Spider-Man fight a trading card-using supervillain named "Kai-oh"
