While radio is not a visual medium in the obvious sense, the images & colours conjured by @dovecomposer’s music & @zebsoanes words are miraculous - & I say that as the illustrator! Sitting here in a cold, damp Suffolk, it felt very special. And next, we do it LIVE in Scotland!!

#BookIllustrationOfTheDay is by Dagmar Berková for “TheNutcracker” by Hoffmann (1968). One of series of music themed books from the Sixties called “curtain-raisers”. Strange, delicate, gentle sugar-plum illustrations - here one of Clara’s dolls dances with a toy soldier…
