Art - so much more than a finished product! The peer to peer conversations I overheard, & those had between myself & the children today demonstrated the power of storytelling through art. Children didn’t just paint autumn trees, they talked about them using rich vocabulary.
I loved planning this Y2 art sequence based on the Great Fire of London. These are last year’s final pieces. Lots of small steps in learning over 6 weeks, alongside experimentation with paint, pen, chalk & charcoal. The children drew on tracing paper so the flames glowed through!
