I absolutely love hunting for details in a messy sketch. After I define my large shapes and the flow of a piece I actively look for ways to create chaos that I can refine and hunt for patterns in when I'm creating.

I love starting very loose with a piece using big brushes, each pass after is just further refinement. This sketch has already been cleaned up quite a bit from a rough start but I couldn't find anything earlier.

I created this piece as a celibration of friendship. Naiya & Aru completed what could be considered an impossible task & their reward is a friendship that will last a lifetime!⁠

This is one of the larger image spreads in the novel. Naiya and Aru are leaving the city of Ora, setting off on their quest. It's a happy moment of transition, Naiya leaving behind her old life for something new.⁠
