A charcoal drawing back from 2001. I was already out of art school for several years but asked for a six month sabbatical from my job at DreamWorks Animation to study drawing full time. It cost me a lot in missed salary but in hindsight I'm so glad I did that.

This is a concept piece for the cove from How to Train Your Dragon.
