Tired as all-get-out after a pretty rough day at work, but I'm not going to pass up a chance to redraw #SailorMoon in #PixelArt while that's a thing-to-do
#sailormoonredraw #pixel #drawthisinyourstyle #db32
OK I did the thing, now back to binge-watching She-Ra !
Temporarily turned off the sky shader to get a better cap of how the rock textures are coming, but forgot I left the rain emitters running ... accidental #sunshower :)
Lots of half-finished things for #ScreenshotSaturday this week
- Pili's field sprite has an idle anim and a wireframe walk
- Rock ledges are getting a glow-up in clarity and style.
- Groundcover! There's not supposed to be any in Shultzong, but this is just a test map.
@venninova I can't get deep into JoJo bc of the plot (Dio's backstory is that...he's a dick?) but I love what a departure it is art-wise.
Here's the character's direct inspirations:
- Nina (#Bof2, '95)
- Mordred (#Merlin, '98/dateless)
- Izlude (#FFT, '98)
- Zhao Yun (#RoTK, '10/dateless)
Lushan military patrols consist mostly of light troops wielding ji dagger-axes. Agility lets them hold their own against much heavier troops, however briefly.
Shield-bearers provide defense. They are not expected to fight on their own; they are trained to support the ji unit.
Twitter ate the video, so here's 4x actual #screenshots at common resolutions, starting from #1080p and going up to #4k.
If you can't easily tell the difference between some of them, good ! (that means it's working 😉)
Yeah, that's how you build a cliff face! Big honkin' rects that self-tile.
Plenty of room for iteration and improvement, but at least I can cover large areas now.
Small bonus: way less overdraw.
I dislike posting #CellPhonePhotos of my #ConceptArt, but my #FlatbedScanner straight up sucks. The light and dark areas are completely blown out, which ruins #Inkwash and isn't any kinder to other media.
Does anyone have a combination printer-scanner that they don't hate?
#BreathOfFire titles has been criticized because the dragons “don’t look like dragons.”
Besides being irritatingly Eurocentric, this critique kinda misses the point.
Dragons are immortal (or perpetually reincarnating) demigods which transcend physical existence.
Imagine shit!
