(previously posted pixel art) several groups of conscripts from the provinces of Luschan, Tsanar and Schandau, play an important role in the first few chapters. Which is to say...you're going to beat up a bunch of them.

@Gaziter I don’t have any great breakdown of this process but here’s a few recent examples where I think I did ok with the hair..especially in the pieces with very small palettes you can see the dominant forms built out of light and shadow. The texture, shine and perturbations come later.

Studies for Silong and Arjin, two more warrior-tier dragons.

As in previous posts, the dragons all represent phenomena and/or calamity.

Silong is funerary, the quiet of death shrouded in silk.

Arjin is a vulture in the skin of a lion, the gold of summer turned to drought.

For me it's more like "I know a place" but never show anybody because even though I can draw backgrounds with some confidence, they take a long-ass time and I am physically allergic to working on the same piece for more than 3 sittings...

I just want the record to show,
if it hasn’t been made clear from other sketches,
Rhoxana is a two-meter-tall purple pangolin with braids,
and she is STACKED.

She and Chime drew a lot of inspiration from Rand and Katt from Breath of Fire 2, before springboarding their own story.

Rhoxana is in line for revisions because she joins the story around the same time as Chime.

Her designs are perhaps second-furthest from final; Bo Sun is also being worked on heavily and there is a 7th and final character that has not yet been teased...

Here's a variation based more closely on the original sketches. Admittedly those sketches were largely determined by which markers I had in my bag.
