@yxtezz Doflamingo was decapitated by Kyros to make readers think he was dead (which even we back then knew Oda was just bluffing), revealing the next chapter that it was just a string clone
The anime shows Gyukimaru's narration of Ryuma slaying a dragon exactly like the panel from Monsters, which is interesting since he claims the dragon was slain over the Flower Capital, which the town in Monsters doesn't seem to be. Is the one-shot really canon or not?
Today, July 19th, One Piece turns 23 years old! From its first chapter in 1997, the series has released hundreds of chapters across the years, finally nearing that 1000 milestone! Here's to many more chapters in this never-ending, never-disappointing laughing tale!
#OnePiece23
A cool detail from last chapter a few have noticed already: recent discoveries have led paleonthologists to realize that the tail of the Spinosaurus was different than originally envisioned, so Oda/an assistant updated Page One's tail to remain scientifically up to date
In case anyone needed evidence of Yamato being Kaido's biological son
Also, a very particular detail that I'm sure very few spotted or even care about, but on Brook's outfit he has "エリンギ" written, which is the Japanese name for the oyster mushroom (you can even see the mushroom drawn above it). But why a mushroom? I'm legitimately curious...
Couple details about Return to the Reverie Chapter 5:
Isn't it peculiar that all members of SWORD have a cross-shaped scar on them? Is there somehow a reason for all of them having such specific scars, maybe even within the canon context of the story...?
