I'm looking into this kind of artistic 3D illustrated maps and I'm trying to find examples interactive real-time 3D ones. Does anybody know of any? (Just as examples, the ones bellow are from Mike Hall and SBB) #cartography #3D #Web

@KiriCarini Found a map that I once made inspired by the look of the map you posted (it shows population in cities). The horizontal view is interesting... Now this puts me in the mood to make a new population map :D

Idea: in 3D grid maps we tend to use the same value to drive both height and color...I find it's actually much easier to read the map if you use only color as a visual variable. And you can extrude them all equally to get a nice 3D effect. What do you think? #cartography #dataviz

Do you know any maps that use 3D labels? Like this kind of extruded 3D labels? I'm experimenting with them right now and I think it looks pretty cool😃 #cartography
