@mychal3ts I’m also now thinking of Strega Nona or The Clown of God, but I’m not sure how many people would get the reference.
The former warmly made me laugh a lot as a kid. The latter meant a lot to me spiritually; but I think most people would have a different association with clowns…
“‘Farewell, farewell,’ said the swallow, with a heavy heart as he left the warm countries to fly back into Denmark. There he had a nest over the window of a house in which dwelt the writer of fairy tales.”

@MicheleKiricha1 The books I got with ace rep and/or ace authors:
-We Were Restless Things by Cole Nagamatsu
-Elatsoe by Darcie Little Badger
-Xenocultivars (ft. queerplatonic Palestinian folktale by @SoniaSulaiman)
-My Lord by @LBShimaira (book’s not ace but author is & it sounds cool!)
Underrated sibling relationships in fairy tales:
-Pinocchio & Blue Fairy (when she gets older and acts more like a mother, Pinocchio realizes he wants to grow, too)
-Gerda & Kai, The Snow Queen
-Little Brother & Little Sister
-Snow White & Rose Red
-The Seven Ravens
In Filipino folklore, there are lots of monsters, called aswang. The wakwak is one such creature, which can split itself in half at the torso so the top half can enter your home. They feed off humans and fetuses.
