You pull the lever and hear the now-familiar sound of incineration. Still, its familiarity doesn't make it any less creepy.
Basil bobs his head back and forth, and the map changes.
"I've updated the map for you! I'm beginning to learn this system quite well!"
The next room you enter has the center table and the projection of Basil and the map, but no more masks.
"We're now meant to incinerate the room we just left, correct?"
"I got it, I got it...don't be so annoying."
Since there's only one option available to you, you scan your card at the south door, your companions following close behind.
"Might as well. Maybe we'll need it later."
You hand off the third mask, still in plastic, to Rei. Somehow, he looks even more pathetic behind a gas mask than usual.
"Should we not take the third one with us? Just in case?"
The strap on the back of Hiiro's mask creates an amusing valley in his fluffy hair. You might have laughed, if he wasn't almost burned to death a minute ago.
"Well...you two should put these on, at least."
You hand the masks, sealed in plastic bags, over to Rei and Hiiro.
"But-!"
Hiiro is cut off by a hissing sound, followed by a roaring coming from the room to your right.
