I gave myself 2 hours to finish each painting and I'd always try to finish each one a little quicker than the last.

Why? So I could practice making good decisions on a deadline.

After knocking out a few, you get into a good rhythm, and the decisions start to flow 🌊

The process:

1. Sketch - focus on creating interesting shapes, character design, and composition
2. Underpainting - lay in base tones and temperature spots
3. Texture - lay in textures, wrapping around forms
4. Lighting and FX - choose light source, make it pop!

Here's main chamber of the Technodrome.

Had to make this giant brain still feel like a UFO somehow. Tried to make it feel cold and sterile along the perimeter with a hot center.

Loved workin on this one (somewhere in Feb 2019).

I remember bashing my head on the wall trying to figure out the colors for this one (as usual), especially knowing snow would be the dominating factor.
