"Traversing through the creamy plains we search for the spirit of Banana"
Today over at https://t.co/ix16waLwYX the art challenge was to design a character using a dessert, pastry, sweet or snack - and I went with Twinkies.
I don't know. It got weird somewhere along the way.
At https://t.co/ix16waLwYX we do art challenges on Fridays (everyone is welcome to join!) and the last one was to create a character based on your zodiac sign. Mine is Libra, and I wanted to do something different from the typical scale and lady justice you normally see.
Mycena, The Fungal Queen
Using fungus as reference, I decided to make a character. There is SO MUCH richness and weird fascinating stuff when it comes to fungus!

Some lighting/volume practice, not really much to say. Just trying out stuff, having some fun.
Made in @clipstudiopaint with a @wacom tablet.
Did this one-hour piece live at https://t.co/ix16waLwYX
One of the main benefits of timed challenges is that they help us develop confidence in our brushwork- and confidence shows A LOT in art.

SALUR VAVALO - Eladrin Elf - Sorcerer/Bard
A @Wizards_DnD character commission. It was a lot of fun to make, especially because along the way I discovered/learned some cool stuff in @clipstudiopaint that I'm excited to share with you all later (tutorial video coming soon!).
My final for the @AdamDuffArt Lucidpixul Mentorship. The idea was to create an image that represented the kind of work I wanted to do. The mentorship was an incredible experience, but I'll tell you more about that later.

Took this from an old idea I had for one of @VaatiVidya challenges that was painting a @DarkSoulsGame location - I choose the harsh land of Carim.
Unfortunately, because of work I couldn't finish it - but here I am a year later picking it up as an idea for some homework.
This exercise involved making a storyboard for a scene, then using composition and lighting to tell the story.
