Recently, I've been excavating the post-#Utena dark ages of Be-Papas, an era we had limited access to that deserves exploring now! Here's two postcards by Chiho Saito from The World of S&M, a strange, honestly not very successful Ikuhara/Saito collab from 2003.
Happy birthday, Tenjou #Utena! You've been revolutionizing our world for 25 years, in manga, in TV, in film, in musicals...it goes on, and it will continue to. <3
"And someday, with me..."
"Someday, with you..?"
The finale of Revolutionary Girl #Utena aired December 24th, 1997. The most future they dared imagine for themselves then was a decade, but it has been 25 now, and together, this fandom has kept them shining. ❤️
Newtype's July 1997 issue features this two page #Utena spread with Utena's voice actress Tomoko Kawakami pictured. However, the issue really belonged to #Evangelion's honorary Duelist Asuka, the protag of End of Evangelion. Naturally, I scanned that, also. :)
The December 1997 Newtype Magazine celebrates the finale of Revolutionary Girl #Utena with a gorgeous six page spread right up at the front of the issue! I left some of the uh, scan and paper quality flavor intact, but these are multi-scan images from a huge magazine, lol. Enjoy!
@ricemilk413 I've been banging at it a bit, I managed a couple but you have to give it *no* other paler colors to cherry pick and even then sometimes it just blue screens itself and throws you an entire different image
I tried to make the AI let Akio be brown given the extraordinary amount of artwork where a lot of his skin is visible
it turned him into a literal phoenix instead
