i've met some mean people with mullets and some nice people with mullets. all of them had an independent streak.

it's a common moment in queer stories, particularly queer girl stories and any genderqueer stories.

in chapter 3 of THE REAL RILEY MAYES, Riley cuts her hair by herself. it's a sudden cut, but it's been on her mind.
