The Mimi graphic novels by are super *cute,* but we especially love that their easy-to-navigate layouts will appeal to reluctant readers who want to dive into graphic novels but become overwhelmed by busy pages.

Speak Up! by Rebecca Burgess (@theorah) is one of our top 2022 graphic novels! This #mglit stars a strong girl whose autism challenges her in some ways, but finds bravery through her Elle-Q online persona. Absolutely love the realistic message, fantastic layout, & fab graphics!

Digestion! The Musical written by @MrAdamRex & illustrated @llaurappark is certainly the best picture book musical we’ve ever read! Candy meets organ after organ as she travels through the human body to digest. Hilarious & informational all at once? Move over, Ms. Frizzle! 🫀

Josh Funk & @edwardiantaylor always take fairy tales to the next level, bringing new perspective to characters’ stories we always *thought* we knew. It’s Not The Three Little Pigs is no exception, in the fourth (& best yet!) book in their silly picture book series! 🐷 #kidlit

I am Ruby Bridges: How one six-year-old girl’s march to school changed the world, written by Ruby Bridges & illustrated by Nikkolas Smith is beautifully done in both words and pictures. It’s a true celebration of “the first!” and it releases this fall from @Scholastic!

Wow! @Evan_Griffith your #mglit debut is simply phenomenal! Manatee Summer is full to the brim with family, friendship, & connection with earth’s precious wildlife. Brilliant dialogue - tons of ❤️ - we are eager to read more! Thank you for introducing us to these gentle giants!

Love, love, love the idea of finding our people in this crowded world that can feel so lonely. Plus an X-Men vibe, an evil villain, & all of it done in gorgeous graphic novel format. Middle grade kids will gobble up Another Kind by @caitmayart & @TrevTellsTales!

Garlic & the Vampire by @breebird33 was an ARC gift from our bookshop getaway, and *this* is why ARCs are the gifts that keep on giving! What a little gem of a graphic novel, and before this it wasn’t on our radars. Now we are ordering them for our libraries! 🧄🥕Adorable #mglit!

Almost Always Best, Best Friends by @AprylStott is about growing up & coming to understand that we don’t lose the strength of a friendship when we make room for someone new.

We loved Apryl Stott’s Share Some Kindness, Bring Some Light and now we love BOTH of her picture books!
