Had a good day exploring San Francisco yesterday, but flippin’eck I am tired today. Love it but it takes it out of me, a day down there, and then back up to Davis. Been taking those daytrips since 2006, still finding new things.
Last week we were in Paris, I miss it there. Love being back in France. Always much to discover.
Yesterday, I took a late lunch in the sunshine and walked back to the Walker Hall Graduate Center to start another panorama, which I finished off last night. This is of the other courtyard from the one a few weeks ago. #ucdavis #daviscalifornia The students are back on Monday!
Couple of panoramas from the recent visit to Hawaii, one from Lanikai Beach, the other was the view from the hotel in Waikiki. We had a fair bit of rain! But it was a nice trip.
So bye bye Nuno, we hardly Nuno ye. Gone but not forgotten (yet; give it a day or so). On to the next guest manager. I won't miss the football. I'll miss the beard.
After the rain (or between, really, it’s coming back) a lunchtime sketch on campus with the iPad (stood beneath shelter in case the rain rained down again) (also, rain finally! I walked to work in the rain this morning, it was nice, felt like being back home)
Here are a few sketches of De Vere's I did over the years, including the very first time I went there, Nov 2011, it had been opened about a week or so. The most recent was that exterior, just after they repainted. Used to like getting a comic next door and reading it over a pint.
I also tried the Moleskine sketchbook, I'd seen several other sketch bloggers (like Andrea Joseph) use it so gave it a go. Drew the Bike Barn in Oct 2006 (those trees are gone). Couldn't get the hang of the paper, not good with the Micron or the paint. Never finished that book!
